In the Commons, Mr Molteno asked th© causes of sickness and casualties among native carriers in East Africa, which he stated, reached a monthly . average of ten to fifteen per thousand. Mr MacPherson replied it was principally malaria, pneumonia, cerehro Bpinal, fever and dysontry. Fiftytwo .medicals had been posted to temporary hospitals and additional help for South Africa was being obtained.
