HIGH OFFICIALS’ LAPSE. ( WEUNGTON, July 18. Herbert Eaton Radcliffe, chief clerk of the Mines Department, was to-day committed for trial at the Supreme Court on several charges of forgery and theft of Government moneys. ELEVEN MONTHS. AUCKLAND, July 19. At 'the Police Court a waterside worker Ernest Emil Hind who claimed to be a Russian was charged with having published a statement which indicated disloyalty or dsaffection in connection with the war. He warn sentenced to eleven months imprisonment.
