KILLED IN ACTION Rifleman W. J. Green, — Mrs N. Ward, Westport, mother. STILL DANGEROUSLY ILL. Private E. Lines, Inangahua Junction. SERIOUSLY ILL. Private 11. George, Westport. Mrs. Normau Ward of Westport has received word that her son, W. J. Green has been, killed in action on Juno 7. ’ Private Green who sailed with the 13th. Reinforcements Was employed by Mr. Cooper, butcher Ngakawau when lie enlisted. He had previously served with Mr. Lamplough, Westport, and with several of the butchers. He was a very popular young fellow and his many friends will regret to hear of his death. Mrs. M. H. I/angridg© formerly of Greymouth has recoived word that another of her sons Private Harry M. Langridgo who left "with the 18th. Re'imforeementis was killed in action at M ©seines on the fateful 7th. A brother was killed at Gallipoli. - Another brother who had risen from Private to lieutenant and who went through the Gallipoli campaign where his brother died iin his arms is now reported woun. ded. Word has been received by Mrs. J. Parr Crown Hotel, Burnett’s Face, that her son, Sergeant J. 11. O’Brien of Waimangaroa has been awarded the D.0.M.. Sergeant. O’Brien left with the 9th. Reinforcements for the front in October 1915 as a private rising to the position of sergeant after a few months of active service.. Ho received a wound some months ago, hut was away from the firing line for only, a short period. He is now only 20 years of age having enlisted at tlie age, of 18 years.
