Colonel Goethnls final plans for ship construction provide for 448 woodfen and 476 steel vessels of a total of 4711,000 tons, .besides the taking over of 1500,000 tons privately constructing. t _ . Tho total with the present merchantmen could give America nearly nine millions tons within two years. The shipyards remain under the present management with Government supervision. . A 810 ORDER. The President of a ship-building Com pany has announced that he has contracted to build forty to a hundred ships for a European Ally, costing eight een to fifty million dollars. He refused the namo of tho contracting Government. U. BOAT SUNK. (Received This Dav at 11.25. a.m.) NEW YORK, July 15th. It is reported that an American schooner sunk a U. boat it is believed in the Mediterranean.
