MAGISTRATE’S COURT
FRIDAY, JI'LY 13th, 1917. (Before T. Hutchinson, Esq., S.AI.) The police charged two local residents with being on licensed premiser, (Pioneer Hotel) during prohibited hours. After hearing evidence both were convicted and fined £1 each. A charge against an offender of being drunk in Tailored Street on a Sunday evening, was defended, and, after hearing evidence, the Magistrate gave defendant the benefit of the doubt and dismissed the charge. BOROUGH BYE-DAWS. Borough Inspector (Air Park) charged A. Stapleton (Mr 'Wells) with foiling to instal a pan when ordered. As the defendant had since complied with t-lm bye-law the charge was struck out. A similar charge against A. Coderman was struck out, as he had also since complied with the bye-law. [ Same v. AI. Dawson, adjourned until next, Court day, as the work of carrying out the bye-law requirements was in hand. Same v. R. and W. Ross, for failing to carry out the' same bye-law requirements, wore convicted and fined 10s. Same v. J. MeCn.be, . a charge oi failure to admit the night-soil con- j tractor, the charge was adjourned to j give an opportunity to allow the vontractor to attend to his duties. JUVENILE COURT. At a sitting of the Juvenile Court., before Mr T. Hutchison, Esq., S.M., a lad was charged with breaking several windows, the property of F. McGregor. After hearing evidence of the police, hoy’s father, and two other school boys, the Magistrate severely admonished the accused, adding that this caution was to extend to all other boys mentioned as taking part in the sport.
