AH's G. Routhan of Goldshorongh who has been knitting regularly for tlie Lady Liverpool Committee, is in receipt of the following letter from AV. N. Elliott. In' the Field, 5/5/17 : “Dear Mrs Routhan, —I am writing you a few lines in answer to a request I found written on a slip of paper in a pair of socks which came into my possession. The socks came along just in good time for me. As it happened I had just returned from hospital where I had been for three weeks with that distressing complaint—the mumps. My kit had gone in a different direction to myself with the result that I found myself in need of several things, including socks. Thank you so much for them.

The weather, I am glad to say, is now greatly improved. In fact after the bad winter we are feeling it a bit too warm. Sometimes of course it is warm in another sense, but we 'always manage to keep going. We are all quite confident that the war ■will be over this year. It is high time the old Hun was coming to his senses. I will now ring off with the best of wishes. Thank you again for the parcel. Good-night.”
