CASUALTY LIST. • A casualty list issued to-day contains tbo following:— v Killed in action 23 Died of wounds H Wounded 80 Total HI A private cable received from bis brothers confirms tbe sad news ot tne death of Signaller Frank (Darky) Byrne at tbo front on the 19th June. Tho. deceased was a native of the Coast and was well known at Hokitika, Kumara and Greymouth. H 6 was an .athlete of repute before enlisting, and various championships was the winner of valuable long-distance trophies. Air and Mrs T. V. Bern,-, his parents, reside in ’ Wellington, where the young man enlisted early in the war, and went off willingly to fight for King and Empire. Shortly before leaving 'New Zealand he was quietly married in Wellington. His sisters —Airs G. H. Chapman and Miss IJi-y.no reside in Hokitika. The relatives of tb e gallant young soldier will have the deep sympathy of numerous friends throughout the district- v
