OBITUARY.

! DEATH OF MRS PERRY, SENR. i ,It as with sorrow that we announce ithe death of Mrs Perry, widow of the late Mr William Perry, of Hokitika, which took pine© at the residence of her daughter, Mrs Wm. McKay,%rft Greymouth, about noon to-day. Tho deceased, who was a native or England and 67 years of age, came out to New Zealand when quite a girl and has resided im Hokitika practically ever since, endearing herself to a very largo circle of friends, who will hear, with sincere regret and sorrow of the passing-of a true wife and mother. The deceased had been ailing for some months, and during tho las? few days it was known the ‘end was coming.

A family of eight -(four sons and four daughters) are loft to mourn their loss. Tho sons are Mr William Perry, Mr Georg© Perry (Mayor of Hokitika), Mr Henry Perry, of Wellington, and Mr Garnet Perry. Th© daughters ui» Mrs Wm. McKay, of Greymouth, Mrs J. O. Shorland, of Wellington, Mrs W. St. George of Wellington, and Miss Eva Perry, of Hokitika. Th© deep sympathy of a wid© circle of friends will be ©xtended to the bereaved family.

The death of Mr John McCormick, ! which took place this morning ar tu® , residence of his niece, Mrs E. Fane, Hall street, removes another of tho sterling band of colonists now fast dwindling away. A native of County , Antrim, Ireland, and 78 years of agw, most of his life was spent in South Westland, where ho was a settler at } Waitangi *in~ partnership with Messrs 1 Scully and Butler. Several years | ago he came to live in Hokitika, and j for the last nine months lias gracum, v been failing. Fie leaves anumbor of nieces and nephews. Mrs E. Fan© is a neico and Mr. John McOormich, of Hokitika, is a nephew. Many ob friends in Westland will bo sorry to hear of his death.
