The big Triangle FiSie Arts pYoduo tion of “Daphne and the Pirates,” produced under the direction of the only “Griffiths,” the producer of “The 3 Birth of a Nation,” and “Intolerance,” will be the star drama, in Pollard’s j Picture display at the Princess ; Theatre to-night. The captivating and bewitching Triangle star “Lilian Gish” is featured in the leading role of s Daphne, and is supported by Elliot Dexibor (a 'Broadway star) and the famous Triangle Fine Arts cast,. This delightful romance of the days when bride-ships sailed for New Orleans . with girls who were sold at auction for th e French settlers. The scene opens, in France, with the abduction of Daphne by a roue who himself has to fly, leaving the girl a prisoner in the house he had her placed. This house is subsequently raided by the authorities, who carry off the girls, including Daphne, and send them across the pirate infested seas to Louisiana. Pirates are met with, hut 'beaten off, 1 and on the arrival of the girls they are detained for sale by auction.' The former lover of Daphne arrives upon the scene, • and many adventures and incidents happen that form a splendid romance, before Daphne is married to the man of her choice. The piece is produced on a gorgeous scale with every attention to detail—a fact that is easily understood when the production is under the direction of that prince of producers, D. N. Griffiths. Marguerite Clark, the gifted actress of the Famous Players’ Company, will b 0 seen at the Opera House on Tuesday evening in a delightful romance of old Ireland, in five glorious acts entitled “Little Lady ‘Eileen.. Briefly, the story is as follows : At .Miss o - Haralian’s school for gilds, near Dublin, there is a mischovious pupil with the awe-inspirjng name of Lady Eileen i Kavanangli, who is barely large enough to sustain the burden of so cumbersome a name. Her pranks are. far from pleasing to Miss Q’Haralian, and she is punished many times, until the sudden discovery that- her father is penniless, leads do her being withdrawn from the school. Denis Ivavan- . angh spends his life delving into hundreds of massive volumes, which ,ine the walls' of his libraby from floor to coiling. While perched on his ladder searching for a musty tome. ... discovers a will yellow with age. The contents of the will state that, the <•.. ir 0 estate of Terence Kavanaiigh, amounting to a. vast sum,- will descend to the eldsot daughter of the House of Kavanangli, provided that she marries the eldest son of the House of Churchills. During his stay in Eileen’s town Stanley and the little maid become deeply interested in each other, though li 6 never tolls her his name. Meanwhile George, his scape-grace brother, discovers the terms of tne will, presents himself at, the Kara..angh home as th c eldest son of a. family, and insists that thc marriage be arranged at once, despite Eileen’s very evident distaste for him. tne -i little girl is tricked into the marriage, ■ hut her lover rescues her from George on their wedding day. George, believ- • ing that he has killed Stanley in a ■ fight, flees, hut is killed by a huge holder which rolls down the mountain - side. Of course, Stanley 'thinks he found Eileen all by himself; and that his brother was killed by accident,, but Eileen knows that it was the fairies, that showed her' her true lover. The interesting serial, “The Mysteries oi Myra,” will ho advanced, another stage. An outstanding feature of this remarkable production is the special Irish music which will b 0 rendered i>y our full Orchestral Band.
