BIG DEMAND FOR. STORES

CHRISTCHURCH, June 20. Messrs H. Mat-son and Co. report ns follows:
Fat Cattle.—There was an average yarding as regards quality and numbers. The market was firm at late rates and no appreciable change in values can he quoted. Prime steers sold to £24 10s, ordinary £lO 6s to £l7; hr* ers up to £l7; heavy cows £l6 15s; medium to £l3 10s.
Store Cattle. —There was a fairly large yarding, and an. extra keen demand. In fact it was tho beststore cattle sale seen in Addington for some time. A line of Hereford heifers, «aWest Coast, sold alt £lO 10s. Another line of 3-year-old steers, in ordinary condition, ex-North Canterbury, made £ll 17s 6d. Yearlings and 18-months-old sold_ up t,o £6 12s 6d. Fat Sheep.—There .was tho largest yarding for months, and competition, especially for good stuff, was keen. Light and inferior was not ho good. Best wothers sold to 52b, primo from 34h to 445, medium to prime 31s to 33s 6d. Ewes, best to 42; prime 31s to 365; medium 26 to 30s 6d; light and inferior 21s to 25a.
Store Sheep. There wa s a small entry, mostly wethers and inferior ewes. All classes were a shade easier. Best wethers from 28s to 80s; sound-mouth ewes from 24s to 28s; best hoggets from 21s to 245.
