WRONG TOTE DIV

CHRISTCHURCH, June 20. William Hill McDougall was charged with taking into account in calculating a racecourse dividend, certain investments which had not been publicly reported. The affair occurred at the Canterbury Park trots, where a dividend paid out was made smaller than it should have been if the figures on the machine were correct.

The man who worked the totalisator admitted making a mistake. The Magistrate said that the case was an accident, and fined defendant £2 and costs.
