FOUR WEEKS' LEAVE ON PAY IN ALL CASES
Auckland, June 14 Sir James Allen states that the Government has decided that men discharged from camp because of physical defects which did not arise in camp and were not aggravated by service in camp are to be given four weeks’ leave on pay. They will thus be put on the same footing as the returned soldier, who invariably receives one week’s sick and three weeks’ privilege leave on i pay before his discharge. The separation allowance will also be' paid for four weeks after discharge. The Government has also agreed to a proposal that this payment should be retrospective to include all those who have been discharged since January, 1917, but these payments will be made on written application only, as it is impossible for the Defence authorities to trace all men concerned at this date.
