FIDE AT GOAL CREEK
A Hdrious firo occurred) i|t Coal Creek Flat yesterday morning whereby Mr. William Mnnderson’s homestead a two-storeyed building of nine rooms , situated at the' cross roads (Goal Creek Rumanga) was totally destroyed. Tho firo which started in the kitchen occurred at about 5.45 a.m. Mr and Mrs Manderson being absent in their milking shed at the time. From the shed referred to Mrs. Manderson remarked that there appeared t° he r. bigger light than usual in the house, whereupon Mr. Manderson made hasto to the homo and found that the fire had obtained a good hold, and four children in bed were goAoUt just in time, whilst Mr. James (“Farmer”) Bell was go out in a dazed condition from his room just off the kitchen. Mr. Manderson suffered a complete loss, his furniture together with about £3O bacon and £4O in cattle covers, ns woll as more than an ordinarily large supply of provisions being totally destroyed, and on which t.her© was no insurance. The building was insured for £3OO in the Commercial j Union Office. “ _
