THE WAITOTARA
(Per Press Association.—Copyright.) THE SEARCH PROCEEDING. DUNEDIN, Juno 19. Prospects are good as to the early rescue of tho crew of the Union S.S. Company’s steamer Waitotnra, which was abandoned owing to fig© early yesterday. There are now three steamers searching for the men, numbering j forty, who took to open boats two hundred miles from land. Two of dho relief steamers were about the same distance from the j scene when they undertook the search. It is interesting to mention that an I Allied 'Government has sent a vossel j to search for tho Waitotara’s crew. : It is oxpooted that news of her j crew’s safety will bo received not later than Thursday. Most of the valuable cargo, including printing paper, was for Australia. It is understood the fire broke out amongst tbo copra.
