Matson and Co. report as follows : Fat Cattle.—Tliero was a moderate yarding, the quality varying from medium to extra good. The demand • was linn at fully last week's rates, il not hotter. Fraccing buyers were keen at "ell above the Government prices. Best steers sold to £23 10s, medium £ls 10s 10 £18; boilers £l2 to £10; cows £lO to £ls. Store Cattle. —There was an exceedingly small yarding and a keen demand, but no sales can be quoted as • representative of ruling rates, r.s -.lhe numbers were not largoY’.nnugli- to form any idea of values.' A pen of nine© 2J-year-old steers made £lO 10s, and another pen of 2-yonr-old heifers £8 Bs. Store Sheep.—'There was a small yarding, mostly nnado up of hoggets and ewes. All classes sold well at late rates Best hoggets (wethers) sold from 20s to 245; best ewe hoggets from 23s to 275; sound mouth breeding owes from 26s to 30s; wethers from 26s to 30s. Fat. Sheep—The yarding was not so large as last week and the quality was uneven, the market being about similar. Freezing .buyers are still going strong- Best wethers -to o2s, prime 3-5 s 6d to 445; lighter sorts 29s to 34s 6d; ewes about the same as last week, but butchers were not quite so keen, owing to many ewes turning out heavy in lamb v AVe can assure a good market for pi’nio oVes, free of lamb.
