TRIBUTES TO MAJOR REDMOND.

LONDON, June 11. I In the House of Commong Mr. Lloyd George said that under the present con- . dition of Irish politics to make the conference smaller than 101 members I would be impossible, as the Govern- j ment desired to secure the representa- j tion of the overy-day life of Ireland It was inviting the county councils and country boroughs to send their chairmen It was also, inviting five members from each political party, »onr members of the Roman Catholic Church, tho Anglican Archbishop, the Presbyterian Moderator, and five representatives of Irish trade unionism. The Government was also prepared to nominate a chairman for the convention. j Mr. Lloyd George closed by paying a warm tribute to [Major William Redmond. Though at his age ho could not : be expected to endure the dangers and . hardships of war, Major Redmond had sought poril and privations with cheer- | ful voura'ge. Rt .Hon. H. H. Asquith and Sir Edward Carson paid similar tributes, Sir Edward Carson said that the Belfast Conference had accepted his advice, and had decided to enter the convention. I Major Redmond had died side by side ■ with Ulstermen, which was a good omen that, a solution of the Irish question might he found which would meet all ideals of liberty for all parts of Ireland. ,
