HASTINGS, June 12.
It. has rained continuously heie since ten o’clock on Sunday. Six inches have already been recoraeu, while the .country round Napier and Hastings is again under water. The early train got through to Napier, but the express for Wellington found the line rotten and a substitute nns sent on from hero without the Napier passengers. Whakatu is badly flooded, the residents moving with difficulty in dru&a. Ngnruroro river nt Farndon has broken its banks and the surrounding country is under water. V Hundreds of carcases of stock are floating down the river. Tho bridge 'at Omahu is rocking dangerously. Pakowhai residents snv .it is the worst flood experienced. Tukituki river is rising rapidly, but the estuary is clear. Thcro is much surface water about Hastings and many bouses are' isolated.
