(Received This Dav nt 10.15. a.m.) WASHINGTON. June G. The State • Department is officially advised that an American armed merchantmen has sunk a submarine. They fought for ninety minutes, and the 25th shot pierced tho submarine. Tho submarine’s stern rose out of the water and then sunk. The Navy Department is convinced that the submarine has been baggeu. The submarine flew no flag.
