-Henry William Reynolds, a bootmaker, was tried by court-martial at the Barracks to-day, on a charge of failing to attend liis Aledical cxanmicion.
Major- J. Morrisdn presided. Accused WQ.JS undefended. He declared ho would take no part in the proceedings. His demeanour caused the President to advise him-to treat the Court with respect. As lie refused to plead, the court entered the plea of not guilty on lus u »- half. Major Gresson, the Prosecutor, saiu tiie accused was a reservist under tlic Military Servce Act, having been drawn in the Sixth Ballot . Evidence was given regarding Reynolds failure to attend examinant*.. Accused told Captain Northcote that ho would not be made a military slave. Accused told the Court that he would call no witness nor would lie K iveev ' idence on oath, but he stated that he was an anti-militarist, and ™ thiiw of a battered target for the Military authorities.
