SOLDIERS’ PAPERS.
The Chief Postmaster advises, in answer to an inquiry as to whether the intimation given in Poster, “ Newspapers, etc., for United Kingdom,” referred to newspapers addressed to soldiers who may either be in the United Kingdom or Prance —*‘I have to inform you that tb6 restrictions imnosod do rpply to such newapape-s. I he importation into the United Kingdom of newspapers on conditions other than those arnounoad can only be allowed Binder the authority of a license granted by the Royal Commission on Paper, London. If yon desire such a license, an application for one would, no doubt, be sent on by the High Commissioner.” The poster referred to states: Only single copies of newspapers and periodicals may be sent by po t to the ' United Kingdom, unless they are sent by parcel post, in which case they may b 8 sent in packets weighing not more than 71b.” The charge is 1/ np to 31b and 2/ up to 71b.
