TEB PBESB ASSOCIATION.—COPYBIGHT], A Cororer’s Verdict ROTORUA, May 29th.At the adjourned inquest on James' Casey, who was electrocuted on May 11th while working on an electric light line, Coroner Dyer returned a verdict that the contributing cause of the accident was the omission of William Herbert Hayden, a fellow workman of deceased, to obtain an authority from the assistant, for himself and Casey to work on the electric-wires, and in consequence tlie current was turned on, in ignorance that they were working on the line. The Coroner added that he did not attribute to Hayden, who was himself injured, any intention of committing & criminal or culpable act, by neglecting to obtain authority.

Bookmakers Fined WELLINGTON, May 29. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day William Daniel Davill, charged with being a book-maker and betting on Trentliam racecourse was fined £2O. Similar charges against Clarence Cecil Hopkins, and Leonard Mexted ■were withdrawn.
