He was at a oertain point when a runner came dodging and dashing through tha barrage, Hardly had the runner arrived when a shell exploded near them, killing the runner and bnryiog them both, The private suffered badly from ebook, bub was able to dig himself oat. Though dazad he dag oat the runner, found the message on his dead body, and then went on and delivered it.”
Anzac Military Police. London, May 25 The British Australasian and Mr Chomley, the editor, were proseouted separately under tha Defence of the Realm Act for publishing letters prejudical to discipline and accusing the Australian military police of skulking in London and dodgiug duty. The prosecution said the police had all been wounded or invalided on active service, and had earned commendation. The defendant expressed regret and apologised. He said that he was now satisfied that the letters had been grossly exaggerated. Mr Chomley was fined £SO and £2O costs.
: Hun National Anthem. London, May 25 The Times comspocdeat at Amsterdam states that the Yoss'sahe Zeitnng (Berlin) publishes an appeal signed by notabilities, for a new German National Anthem in honor of the Kaiser. It is felt that “Heil der ira SiegenkraDZ,” (Hail to thee Victorious) no longer awakens a complete response, the air having been written in honour of the English George 11, to the words of "God Save our King.”
