PRESTON YARDS STOCK SALE
At the Central Salf-ysrda, Preaton Road, yesterday, there was a very large attendance from all par s of the district, donbriaae attracted by the advertised entry of fat stock which was quite in keepiog wish olden titries at the yards. A feature of the sale was the ke9u competition for a small line of vealers from Mr Oidercg’s Kawhaka Estates These six to seven months dd calves made £5 each, quite a record price for thio class. Again four steers (20 months) from Mr D. Jeilie, made £8 to £7 15/. The entry comprised 71 fat cattle and 353 fat sheep and lambs, and the yarding was disposed of under keen competition.

On coconut of Mr W. Oiderog, Kawhaka estate: 8 veakrs, 6 to 7 months, at £5 ; 2 fat cows at £11; 3 fat heifers at £8 12/6. On account of Mr H. Disdiich, Kokatahi : 10 prims quality bullocks from £ls 15/ to £l3 17/6 and £ll 17/6 U £lll2/6 ; 4 fat cows from £L2 2/6 to £lO 17/6 ; six fat hp.ifera from £lO 5/ to £lO ; 65 fat wethers (two tooth) at 29/9.
Oa account of Mr D. Jeilie, Arahura : 5 steers, 20 months, at £8 to £7 15/ ; 3 heiferi at £9. Oa account of Mr Thos McNeill ; 2 light Bteers at £7 2/6 ; 3 prime bullocks at £ls ; 1 fat heifer (very prime) at £l2 2/6 ; 5 fat heifers at £9 15/ to £7 15/ ; 93 prime heavy wethers at 35/3 to 35/. On account of Messrs Brown and Simpson, Kopara : 29 ewe* at 26/6, 41 forward lambs at 20/. On account of a client : 14 dairy cows (privately) at £7 15/.
