Breach of Gaming Act. Wellington, May 25 A Wellington firm to commemorate the openiog of its new premises exhibited a notice in a shop window stating that it would give a War Loan certificate to every hundredth customer recorded in the cash register. Information under the Gaming Act was laid and in the Magistrate’s Court on December Bth last the firm was charged with commencing a lottery. Mrßeid S.M. reserved his decision and gave judgment to-day- He said that he was satisfied that defendants had commenced a lottery and ioflioted a fine of 40/ and costs.
