ADDINGTON STOCK SALES CHRISTCHURCH, May 23. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows in regard to to-days stock sale at Addington. Faffc Cattle:—There was a very large yrding. and the quality all round was excellent. Competition was strong, from the freezing buyers light through, and prices were well maintained. 'JtJeso steers brought up to £22 10s, medium£ls 10s to £18; best cows to £l4 15s; best heifers£ls. ■ Store Cattle.—There was a small yarding and the demand exceeded the supply, and the market was decidedly firmer. No good forward steel's were entered. Forward cows realised up to £9 ss, 18-montlis and 2-year olds £5 15s to £7 ss, yearlings £3 10s to £4 15s. These prices are only nominal, as no decent lines were sent forward. Fat Sheep.—Owing to the substantially larger yarding than last wees:, prices were slightly easier, although freezing competition was very keen and iis likely to be so. Best wethers sold up to 435, prime 34s to 38s 6d, medium 30s to 33s 6d; ewes to 31s, prime 30s to 36s 6d, lighter and medium 26s 6d to 295, inferior 22s to 255. Store Sheep.—There was the largest entry for some weeks, and prices were well maintained; best wethers roalised from 27s to 30s, best young ewes from 30s to 3os, best hoggets from 22s to 235. All inferior sorts were on a par with last week’s sale.
