N The Pall Mall Gazette says: “The E'oqucl suggests that the Gaza battle was much loss favorable than the official reports indicate. The impression prevails that our objective wa's not obtained and the casualties were high.” The strictest martial law prevails in Jerusalem. The schools are closed and newspapers prohibited. The official archives and treasures have been hurried northward. The Turks are brutally treating, foreigners. The Jewish Society at Palestine telegraphed to the Socialist—Congress at Stockholm that the Turkish Government has ordered Jews to evacuate Palestine, including Judea, Jerusalem and Galilee, and the orders are being enforced with iucreassing severity and pillage, threatening to culminate in a massacre similar to Armenia.
