ITALY’S ATTACK.
Successful Operations. (Australian & N.Z C--hi jA.'tociat'.cn and Renter.) LONDON, May 21. The Daily Chronicle’s Italian headquarters jcorrespondent reports that Sunday’s battle on the TJppeV Isonzo for tlie range of heights mastering the left, bank continues to develop with mechanical precision. 'After Mount Kuk the hump Sasut.t of Vod'ioe was taken. The Austrians made a desperate attempt to retake the lost ground at Vodice. Wave after wave rolled forward upon the hastily improved Italian trenches built along, the old Austrian line but every wave was broken. IVhen the attack was over groups of Austrian dead were lying everywhere m “No Man’s Land.” Tito fight continued all night ana at dawn Vodice was captured.
Austrian Losses.
ROME, May 20. The “Messagero” states that there were 20,000 Austrian casualties during th© first four days of the Italian offensive.
