Mrs George (Mr Well?) a ebaree of allowing cattle to wander on the railway line at Arahura, A plea of guilty was entered. Sergt Folley stated that on the same night there were three cattle killed by the traia Bnd there was every probib lity that these were the animfß, though there was no actual proof of this Fined 20/ and costs 11/. Borough Inspector (Mr Park) v J • Coyle, a charge of allowing 1 horee to wander. Finrd 10/. Same vJ. Cameron, 2 cows Fined 10/.

LICENSING ACT. An offender found on licensed premises (Southland Hotel) after hours, did not appear and was fined 20/. A DISPUTED DEBT P. Webster (Mr Wells) v J. Tain at (Mr Crawford), claim £3 10/ for services of a stallion.’ Da f endant denied asl knowledge or liability. After a quantity of evidence had been beard tho heariug was adjourned for further evidence to be secured
A DEFENDED CASE A. P. D, Crawforl v A, Krakosky (Mr Park), claim £2, money alleged to be promised to plaint’ff for settlement of'a charge for Bei vices rendered - to defendant and his partner. *" Defendant-denied all knowledge of the promise and produced receipts. The evidence of plaintiff was taken and also defendant and bis partner, M. Boyle. After lengthy evidence His Worship decided the plaintiff had no ground for any claim and gave judgment for defendant with costs £1 13/11.
AFTERNOON SITTING CLAIM FOR MAINTENANCE An affliat on case in which Mr Crawford appeared for plaintiff and Mr Wells for the defendant, engaged the Court in the afternoon. After considerable evidence was taken the hearing was adjourned till next sitting. ■ [Left Sitting.'!
