ADDING lON STOCK SALES CHRISTCHURCH, May 16 Messrs Matson and Co., report in regard to to-day’s Addington Stock Sales
Fat Cattle.—There was a moderate yarding. The quality varied and tlie demand was equal to last week for prime, but unfinished was easier. Freezing buyers - were operating lyPrime steers brought up to £2l 10s; prime heifers up to £l4 15s; prime cows to £l3 17s 6. Stoi'o Cattle.—Owing to the rough weather there was practically no entry, except odd cows and yearlings. No prices can be quoted as indicative of present values, but the general tone of the market is firm, and with such good rains, we see no immediate prospect of a decline. . Fat Sheep.—There was a small yarding owing to the inclement weather. The market way firm all round,' and prices were better than last week. Freezing buyers were unable to operate to any extent as the bulk of the market was secured for local consumption. For store sheep there was a keen demand for all forward and good conditioned sheep, especially wethers. There were many enquiries for young ewes and ©we hoggets, but practically none came forward.
