[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT.] (Received May .15, at 8.45 a.m.) Sidney, May 15 The Nationalists Senate bunoh confinues to maintain its lead in Queensland; In all the other States the Nationalist bunches appear safe, though there are still a good many absentees, and the whole of the soldiers’ votes to reckon with. - ■ ■ For the House, Mr Webster’s return is assured. Messrs Glynn and Mahon are still in doubt. King O'Malley was defeated in Darwid, Tasmania, but another election is necessary here, owing to Mr Howroyd’o death.
Queensland Elections. (Received May 15, at 1.40 p.m.) Brisbane, May 15 Tbe local option poll is incomplete.. So far, one district bas carried an increase of ‘ licenses, while Ipswich, Toowonga and Maryborough favour reduction. In three State bye-elections, the Liberals won two, and the Official Labour Party one. Tbe Vaughan Government has now only nineteen seats in the Houee» against 22 Liberals and four Offioial Laqour.
