ELECTROCUTED
A Narrow Escape. A man named Alexander R. Thomson, who lives at Lower Riec»rton, met with anaocident, at iha new picture theatre betweeo the “ Lyttelton Times ” office and Warner’s Hotel about seven o’clock oa Friday night. He is a carpenter and was put on by the contractors to attend to some work on the first storey,■ Which it was necessary to do by electric light. The ccrrent was obtained from a wire on the first floor of tba hotel. Thomson attempted to shift rba lamp he was using and racnivpd.fi shock.
Tbs current was cat off in the hotel as soon as it was known that an accident had occurred, aud several ether men employed on the work carried Thomson down the ladder and into tbs hotel. He was rendered unconscious for about twenty minutes after he received the shock, but soon recovered, and after he had been attended to walked to the tram and went to his home.
