HOSPITAL COMMITTEE The monthly meeting was held on Friday night. Present —Messrs J. A. Murdoch (ohair), B. McQlone, W. E. Richards. Mr F. Roberts was also appointed a member of the Committee and sat at the table The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and outward correspondence read and apapproved. * INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From C.A.' Board, asking for information for annual moating next week.— Received, the Secretary to supply the information. From the Matron (M ss Lockhead), acting under medical advice, aitking for 12 months’leave to undergo special treatment, —Received, and resolved that the Board be reeommerded to grant the request. The Committee expressed their sympathy for the Matron in her illness and hoped the treatment would prove successful • From the laundress (Mrs James) tendering her resignation.—Accepted with regret, the members epeaking highly of Mrs James’ good woik and faithful service to the institution. From Tfcomaa Dawson, apologising f t r insulting behaviour to Matron and nurses, and seeking re-admission — Matter referred to the Doctor and Matron, with power to act.

It was agreed to accept £3 from Mrs Tait in settlement of her account. Accounts to the amount of £96 18/9 were passed and recommended tor payment, subject to some being certified to. y

The Secretary reported receipts for the month amounting to £Bl 8/10. Dt Fleming, who was present, referred to misleading statements published respecting the Kumara Hospital.

On the motion of the Chairman, the Secretary was instructed to pre-v pare a return showing receiptp for past year end number of opeiations performed.
