A SEDITION CHARGE.

Kir Webb, M.P., Arrested. WELLINGTON, May 1 Mr. P. C. Webb M.P. for Greymouth was arrested here to-day on charges of seditious utterances contained in two speeches, one of which was delivered during the Municipal election campaign at Greymouth. Mr. Webb was taken South in custody by tonight’s ferry boat. Appointment Cancelled. SYDNEY, May Is*. Cabinet has decided to terminate the appointment of Mr. Neilson as Trade Commissioner to the United States. The decision was the outcome of a report by Mr. Wade that as a commercial office it was not worth the cost of £5,000 per annum.
