Big Contract Cancelled. Sydney, May 1 It is officially announced that-the Stats Governments contract with Norton Griffiths and Company has been cancelled, on terms satisfactory to both parties. Government’s reason for seeking release from the contract, involving several millions, ware the difficulties arising from the war in obtaining plant, material and the necessary labor. ,
The cancellation means the stoppage of a number of important public works, and the throwing of many employees out of work.
