A conference representing the various Farmers’ Co-operative Associations in New Zealand wilt be held in Wellington this week to finally fix details for the formation of the Farmers’ Co* aperativo Wholesale Federation of New Zealand, Limited. It has been decided to register the company immediately, with a nominal cap' al fixed at present at £100,00?), whiia the aggregate nominal cipitd subscribed by the associations is nearly £3,000,000. With regard to trio capital, it is not the idea of tbe controlling boards ol the several asßoniatims tLat the Federation itself should embark upon ventures involving large capital responsibilities! but rather that it should become a medium of inauguration, It is confined to genaine Farmers’ Co opera'ive the majority is actoally engaged directly or in any subsidiary branch of farming, or in any industry allied thereto. It has been decided to confine the initial work to Buca activities as will most effectively assist the shareholders of associations and • oompaniei in their major operations huh in reeard to impor e nnd exports. Iho Federation will abo collect commercial data of all kinds concerning British and other markets, and secure aud manage Dominion, British and foreign agencies of lines of interest to the various associations.
