The death of an old and esteemed resident of Ros?, took place on Wednesday evening in the person of Mr Chtrlea Free, at the age of 76 years. The deceased lias been a resident of the southern township for many years and was well known throughout the district. His wife predeceased him some years ago. He leaves a grown np family of nine daughters and two bods, There are six daughters married including Mrs G. Seatle of Waiho, Mrs E. Pink of Hu Ho, Mrs Pink of Levin, Mrs Peterkin of Palmerston North and Mrs S. Bishop of Auckland. Miss Ada Free resides at Ross, Miss M. Freß in Hokitika and another at Dunedin. The two sons Messrs James Free of South bridge and Mr John Free of Leestou are both well known, The sympathy of mrny friends will be exceeded to th r '"ily. The funeral takes place on Friday afternoon.
