Since the battle commenced 36,000 new Germans have been recognised between Soissons and Auberivo.. Our ability to keep up a limitless bombardment is a most important factor. The capture of Moronvillers was a glorious page in the history of tho war. A French general' spent weeks planning the attack. He went to a liill-top at dawn oil Tuesday «nd watched liis plan carried out. There was a terrific bombardment, and then itlie French charged £ up the five hills and carried them one after another in two hours. The Seventy-fives were soon tearing to pieces tho German reserves that were massed for a counterattack. The slaughter was terrible.
Prisoners taken between ■ Soissons and lltheims state they were ordered to hold the first line at any cost.
