ADDINGTON STOCK SALES CHRISTCHURCH, April is. Messrs Matson and Co. report in connection with to-day’s stock sale i Beef —There was a fairly large yarding of beef and prices all round were perhaps slightly better than last ween. Prime ox £l9 (is to £2l 10s 6d, medium £ls to £lB 10s; best cow beef to £l6 15s; heifers, similar prices per hundred, and slightly better than last week. Store Cattle. —There was a small yarding, comprising mostly good cattlo. The market all round was firm, especially for fat forward cows, and well grown cattle. Forward bullocks £9 2s 6d to £ll 15s, two-year olds (mixed sexes) £6 12s 6d t® £7 15s. forward cows ana heifers £7 los to £O. 10s. Younger cattle were hard to sell. Mutton.—There was a large yarding and the market was firm. The frezSng works buyers were keen. Best wethers brought to -19 s 6d. prime 31st to ftvs; medium and inferior 27s to 30s; ewes to 10s; prime 30 to 365; lighter 26s and upwards. Store Sheep.—There was a largei yarding than last week. All good classes were keenly competed for. Old and backward ewes were hard to sell. Many travelled consignments were passed at auction prices and practically the sain* as last week. We would only advise trying this market with good class sheep.
