April 19 At a meeting of the Dunedin Watereiders’ Uniou the new agreement entered into at the recent conference at Welli n gton was discussed, and ft secret ballot was then taken on the proposals, and resulted in 115 voting for the acceptance and 13 against. The result has been forwarded to Wellington. Racing Moating Cancelled. Camaru, April 10 Owing to the Railway Department’s expert deoision not to carry racehorses the committee of the North Otago Jockey Glub baa decided to abandon tbe meeting proposed to be held next week. Fined for Striking Wellington, April 19 The President, T. P. Hiney, and twenty members of the Freezing Workers’ Union employed at Southdown Works, were charged with taking part in a strike without taking the steps required by law.
