The Executive of South Canterbury Second Division League have drafted a platform and proposals in regard to that of non-political League to help the Government to carry out the Military Service Act, and endeavour to secure, adequate pay allowances, and pensions to all soldiers and dependents and to co-operate with other Leagues. The proposals are to be submitted to a general meeting. They include ihogpay of a privateto be not less than 7s. Oil. a. day and for the wife Is. separation allowance Is. Gd. for each cliua from the day of enlistment, and persiou to be not loss than soldiers’ pay on service-for total disablement. lue amount of death pensions, plus £1 a week for partial disablement, the allowance to bring income to equal that of totol disablement. The Government to pay soldiers’, obligations, as defined in the regulations on the 16th January, 1917, not exceeding £2 per week.
