Shocking Tragedy. SYDNEY, April 2nd. A shocking outrage was discovered in a boarding house at Katoomba. George King, a prominent Melbourne Commercial Traveller was found in bod gagged with liis face bettered,• presumably with a hammer, and the walls and furniture were splashed with blood. Herbert Shaw a youth of nineteen has been arrested in 'Sydney in connection with the outrage. A Conference. WELLINGTON, April 2. The conference between 'representatives of shipping Companies and the waterside workers of New Zealand, which has been sitting for some time, concluded to-nigbt. A complete- argreement was -reached but t!to details are not divulged," although it is understood that the agreement contains a clause providing lor an increase of twopence per hour on the present rates of pay, to remain in operation for the war period. The hours of engagement are shortened and the conditions generally improved.
