BOWLS.

Mr Stewart, Singles Champion

The scores published yesterday in the match, Stewart v J. H. Wilson on Wednesday evening were incorrect and should have read Stewart 29, Wilson 14.

List evening the Singles Championship was brought to a conclusion, when Stewart defeated H. Thompson by 22 to 12. He had thus won his three games of the final round, and became Singles Champion for 1916-17 season, and the holder of the Duncan Gup for

the year. Mr Stewart since arriving in Hokitika at the beginning of the season, has played good bowls in a very consistent manner, and has thoroughly deserved his win. which is a very popular one, the winner hwing proved a thorough sport. We heartily compliment him on his well won success, having suffered only o r ;e defeat during the championship gaum, when Anderson lowered bis colors. The winners oi the Siotrles Championship and the holders of the Dunoan Cup are as follows : 1909- —Mr J. Downey--191- —Mr A. D. D. Crawford. 1911- —Mr D. Stevenson. 1912 13—Mr D, StevensoD. 1913- —Mr D. Ardell. 1914- —Mr D, Stevenson. 1915- —Mr D. Stevenson. 1916- —Mr P. R. Stewart.
