SENSATIONAL ARREST

Over £2OOO Found in his Possession Wellington, Match 22 A sensational arrest was made by Detective Masou last evening, a man named Thomas Selsby, employed on the clerical staff of the Poricna Mental Hospital, being taken into custody on a charge of forging a voucher in the name of J. Thompson for £B9 14/9. A remarkable feature in the case is that when Seisby was arrested at hia reeicetca cn the Terrace he bad in bis personal possession a sum of over £2OOO in five-pound notes. It appears that defalcations to a large amount were discovered in connection with tbs diobursements on account of the Porirua Mental Hospital through a special audit, and suspicion fell upon Seisby, who, in hia dermal capacity, had every oppoc turn tv for drawing vouchers and getting the cosh himself. The matter was handed over to the letective police department for instigation, with the result that it was determined to arrest Sslsby on ihe charge mentioned.
