(Received March 23, at 8.45 a.m,) London, March 22 The Daiiy Telegraph’s Capetown correspondent says General Botha, in the Assembly, replying to Extreme Nationalists’ criticism, agreed that it was inadvisable to employ natives as combatants in Europe. They would be employed exclusively for transport. He did not fear they would become a danger to the whites when they returned. He added—l will continue to do my duty to the Empire, regardless of cost, even if I am alone, My forefathers always used the natives for transport work.
Mr Smartt attacked the Nationaliats’ attempt to exploit the Native question for the purpose of injuring the Government.
