ROBBERY UNDER ARMS
A Cashmsro Sensation A middle-aged lady, who was walking home, eftec having alighted from a tram along Summit Road, Caßhmere Hills, about 4.30 p.m. on Thursday (reports the ‘‘Evening News”), noticed a hoy walking along the path in front of her. The lad quickly wheeled round, and presented at the lady a ehort, nickel-plated revolver, at the same time commanding. “Hands up ; I want some money.” Under the circumstances, the lady produced and gave the boy 2/, Asvhereupon he decamped. Subsequently the boy was seen boarding a tramcar bound for Christchurch. The description given by the visitor is of a lad about 14 years of age, of medium height and build, with a rather pleasant appearance, long black hair, inclined to be bushy, and worn down over his ears. He was dressed in a dark grey Norfolk suit, with short pants loose at the knees His stockings were black-rimmed and he wore no hai. Culprit Caught Pbess Association.—Copyright Christchurch, March 22 A boy of 13£ yonis appeared befoie Mr Bailey, S.M., charged with that on March J 5, being armed with a revolver, he did rob Margaret McCullough of 2/. The police stated that Mrs McCullough, wife of the caretaker, of Victoria Park. Cashmere Hills, was bailed up by the boy who presented a revolver and demanded money. Tae youth had been convicted of theft in January. He was committed to Bnrnham Industrial School.
