Unfortunately in the mines and oa the wharves the “go slow” policy had been adopted. He believed that a large majority of honest men on the wharves were prepared to do a fair day’s woik for a fair day’s pay, but a small minority adopted the I.W.W. methods. The cases were brought aa a final warning, Under the War Regulations there was power to warn men off the wharves. He gave the warning now. If they came back again they would be liable to a term of twelve months' imprisonment. The case is proceedings ANTI “ SHOUTING ” LAWA Heavy FineDannevirke, Maroh 14 Mr M’Carthy, S.M., fined Harold Welch, of the Royal Oak Hotel, at Weber, £SO and costs £5 13/ in default three months’ imprisonment with hard labour for breaches of the anti-shoutirg regulations.
