Approximate times of stai'ting. 1. 1 p.m.— DISTEICT HANDICAP (in saddle) of £SO; second horse to receive ;£lO, and third horse £5 fr om the stake. 1 mile. For horses that have never won an advertised race in 2/35 or better to the mile (or its equivalent). For horses which have been in one of the Counties of Puller, Inangaliua, Greyniouth, or Westland, or any West Coast Borough, for at least three months immediately prior to the race, and owned by residents of the said Counties or Boroughs. Nomination, 12/6; acceptance, 17/6. 2. 1.40 p.m. KANIEBI HANDICAP (in harness) of £6O ; second horse to receive £lO, and third horse £5 from the stake. H miles. Horses m this event will be handicapped to do 4mins or better. Nomination, 12/6 ; acceptance, 20/-. 3. 2.20 p.m. EXPEESS HANDICAP (in saddle) of £6O; second horse to receive £lO, and third horse £6 from the stake. 1 mile. Horses will be handicapped to do 2/35 or better. Nomination, 12/6 ; acceptance, 20/-.
4. 3 p.m.-WESTLAND TBOTTING CLUB HANDICAP (in harness) of £100; second horse to receive £2O, and third horse £lO from the stake 2 miles. Horses will be handicapped to do 5/8 or better. Nomination, 20/-; acceptance, 30/.. 5. 3.40 p.m.—EIMU GOLDFIELDS HANDICAP (in saddle) of £7O; second horse to receive £ls, and third horse £5 from the stake. 2 miles. For unhoppled trotters only. Horses will be handicapped to do 5/20 or better. Nomination, 15/-; acceptance 20/-. 6. 4.20 p.m. PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP (in saddle) of £6O; second horse to receive £lO, and third horse £5 from the stake. 1 mile. Open class. Nomination, 12/6; acceptance, 20/-. 7. 5 p.m.—FINAL HANDICAP (in harness) of £SO; second horse to, receive £lO, and third horse £5 from the stake. 11 miles. Horses will be handicapped to do dniins or better. Nomination, 12/6; acceptance, 17/6.
NOMINATIONS for all events close with the Secretary at his office, Wharf Street, Hokitika, on THUBSDAY, 29th MAECII, 1917, at 9 p.m. HANDICAPS DECLAEED at Post Office Hotel, Hokitika, on WEDNESDAY, 11th APEIL, 1917, at 7 p.m. ACCEPTANCES CLOSE at the Secretary’s office on WEDNESDAY. 11th APEIL, 1917, at 9.30 p.m.
- To be run under the New Zealand Eules of Trotting. Pedigree, age, colour, and sex must accompany nominations. All horses must be ridden or driven in proper Jockey Costume, colours to bo declared with nomination.
Placed horses doing faster times at Kumara or Westland Pacing Clubs Meetings on 9th and 11th April, may be re-nominated for a higher class at this meeting, provided such re-nomination is in the hands of the Secretary by 5 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, 11th APEIL, 1917.
