FROM ONE VIEWPOINT.
Says the writer of Cape Foulwind notes in the Westport News : According to a report from the Methodist Conference, held at Wellington recently, that band of Christians is endeavoring to block Sunday picture shows on the West Coast.
Now, dearly beloved readers, that’s just what’s wanted at the Cape—a good picture show on a Sunday night at our village.
We never have a parson coming out on a Sunday to preach the gospel; our children’s eduction is sadly neglected in God’s work. We try to be as good as we can, so that we may bo well prepared for the hereafter. The oely time we bear the gospel being preached at she Cape is when two men are drilliug a hole, and when the man with the hammer misses his mark and hits the other fellow a smack on the hands—then the sermon commences by the fellow receiving tbe blow.
The hammer-man has to stand with a face as solemn as an undertaker and listen to a flow of language that Mr Webster never beard of, and all through the piece he is a&king a bless* iag to be placed on the man's head who invented the hummer and drill. If -John tho Baptist happens >o cams aloDg, then the prayer meeting ia finished, and Dr Archer is tent for to administer first aid.
