WAR REGULATIONS.
An important regulation under the War Precautions Act, which is designed tio restrict the expenditure on amuse ments, has been gazetted in Australia'. It provides that no person, firm, company, society, club or association shall, without the written consent of the "Treasurer, erect any building or structure for amusement purposes, make any structural alterations in or to a building used or intended to be used for amusement purposes, or expend money for the purpose of establishing an amusement business. Amusement, is defined as an exhibition, performance, amusement, game, or sport for admission to which payment is or is intended to be made. 'A further addition to the War Regulations has been issued providing that any male person over the age cf fifteen on landing in New Zealand from any place beyond the reas shall give a full and satisfactory acc hint < f himself.' Before being allowed to come ashore he must furnish an officer cf the Customs with a declaration giving full personal details and explaining his This regulation will i.ot apply to - persons with permits ft on; Australia, former New Zealand residents, or British naval and military men. Anyone not intending to lecome a permanent resident of ilio Dominion must get a permit from the Minister of Internal Affairs within three months or apply for an extension of time. Anyone making a false declaration will be regarded as having committed .an offence under the War Regulations Act, 1914, and will fee dealt with accordingly.
