gamsation and pooling all their resources to secure a big majority for Sir John Findlay will be a stimulus to the National Cabinet in handling the immense problems which the war has created. The whole electorate is intensely in,J*t terested, but tha depleted rolls will cause a comparatively small poll. Napier, March 6. The Returning Officer at Hastings has received advice from Wellington that Mr Fraser’s withdrawal oannot be officially noticed as it was nob made within the legal time. Mr Fraser, therefore, ia still officially % candidate, though he advises his supporters to vote for Sir John Findlay, Any votes credited to him will not b® informal.
